Okay your step father, father, and you all were in movies. So who is your mother? How did she meet her husbands - you seem to know everyone. I can't believe you even talk to me! lol sandie
My Mother met my father while she was studying theater at The Pasadena Playhouse....He was a teacher there. He also performed and directed plays there in the 1930's through the 1950's. She performed there. She also was under contract to Warner Bros. and did several films...Her maiden name Joan Wheeler...She met William Challee in a play that my Father directed..Come Back Little Sheba...I was 13 years old at the time...There was trouble in river city...She fell for William..My parents later divorced and William and My Mother started a successful art Gallery business together...My dad passed away when I was 17...My Mother and William married...And enjoyed there lives together...
Well it sounds like you come from great stock! And that you accepted your parents divorce okay. Mine divorced too. Hope you had a great St. Paddy's day. sandie
Hello, David. I'm writing a play about The Group Theatre, which your step-father was a founding member. I'm wondering if he spoke to you about that period in the 30's much. Does an archive of his photos and papers from that period exist? Thank you.
As I walk along the Hollywood Stars (Bing Crosby, Rin Tin Tin, Rita Hayworth) on the way to my office, I think about my life's journey and what brought me to this place in time. I've lived in Hollywood most of my life. Grew up in a family of actors and later became one myself. I've been an actor, a television and film writer, and now a Talent and Literary Agent. As my Hollywood journey continues I invite you to walk along with me. I'll look back from where I've been and up ahead. Who knows what's around the next corner...
